    MAKEACHAMP is the world leading crowdfunding platform for competitive sports. Our unique and dynamic tool connects athletes with the power of the crowd in order to provide them with the financial support they need to accomplish their goals.

  • Q: Does MAKEACHAMP provide tax receipts?

    No, MAKEACHAMP does not provide tax receipts to contributors. The only way a contributor can get a tax receipts is if the campaign is deemed as a non-for-profit project by another non-profit company who will then provide tax receipts.

  • Q: What are the fees?

    Since January 4th 2018, MAKEACHAMP has been totally FREE from platform fees. This officially makes us the global sport crowdfunding platform with the lowest rates on the market. Payment processing fees of 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction are however still applying. These charges are imposed by banks and other online payment platforms.   • Q: Can anybody create a MAKEACHAMP campaign?

    Any individual or organization can create a sport related campaign at MAKEACHAMP.

  • Q: I've added my PayPal information but I am not getting my funds, why is that?

    MAKEACHAMP will transfer the funds to your PayPal account after your campaign is done. It usually takes 5-15 business days to do so.

  • Q: Can I give tax receipts to contributors?

    MAKEACHAMP cannot give tax receipts on your behalf. One way you could provide tax receipts to contributors is to appeal to your Sport organization who is a non-profit organization and ask them to give tax receipts to contributors. If they approve your project as a nonprofit project, they'll be able to give tax receipts to your contributors based on the information provided to you in your contributors dashboard.

  • Q: Do I need to add rewards to my campaign?

    As explained in the Handbook, the rewards are necessary because fulfilling the rewards helps establish a connection with the supporters.

  • Q: Is a video required to launch a campaign?

    A video is required to launch a campaign. Adding a video to your campaign is easy and can double your chances of running a successful campaign. To learn more please refer to the Handbook.

  • Q: Do I need to get my campaign approved?

    No, you can create, edit and launch your campaign all by yourself. However neglecting to respect the terms of use, will get your campaign removed and you'll banned from using the MAKEACHAMP platform

  • Q: Can I edit my campaign after it’s launched?

    Yes, your changes will be reviewed and our campaign managers will contact you by email when approved.

  • Q: Do I need a PayPal account to start a campaign?

    Yes, you are required to have a PayPal account to start a campaign. To learn more please visit the Handbook.

  • Q: What will you do with the information that I have to provide to launch my campaign and to receive my funds?

  • Q: When will I receive the funds collected?

    The funds will be transfer to your PayPal account or provided bank account within 5-15 business days following the end of your campaign. If you have any questions or special requests, send us a message at .

  • Q: What happens if I don’t reach my funding goal?

    Although you have not reached your funding goal, we hope you benefited from this experience. At MAKEACHAMP, we understand that every dollar counts; therefore, you will receive the funds raised.

  • Q: Can I add funds to my MAKEACHAMP campaign that I’ve received outside of the MAKEACHAMP fundraiser?

    The only contributions that will appear on your funding campaign are those that are done through MAKEACHAMP. We recommend you to contribute any funds raised from outside the platform back into your campaign in order to increase the chances of success.

  • Q: What if I get injured and I do not go to the event I raised the money for?

    Dedicated athletes are susceptible to injuries. We took this into consideration when designing MAKEACHAMP by enabling you to transfer the funds you raised to your next campaign. This allows you to be as transparent as possible with your supporters.

  • Q: How do I know an athlete is who they claim they are?

    MAKEACHAMP performs a double positive ID check on each and everyone of its campaigns in order to guarantee that athletes running campaigns are authentic and are who they claim to be.

  • Q: Why should I support an athlete?

    By supporting an athlete, you delve into the athlete’s journey. You are no longer a fan on the side: you are a teammate and a significant contributor to the athlete’s dream. Enjoy the benefits of connecting to them; share their successes and struggles; and be inspired by their passion, determination, and discipline.

  • Q: Do I need an account on MAKEACHAMP or PayPal to contribute?

    You do not need an account on MAKEACHAMP or PayPal to contribute to an athlete. Anyone with a credit card can make a contribution! If you want to add your photo to the list of contributors, all you have to do is connect your Facebook account, and that’s it!

  • Q: Can I get a tax receipt for my contribution?

    MAKEACHAMP cannot give tax receipts to contributors. However if the campaign is deemed as a nonprofit project an organization might be able to give you a tax receipt. In this case, the athlete will indicate on their campaign that their campaign is a nonprofit project and tax receipts can be issued. MAKEACHAMP is not responsible for any of this, it is the sole responsibility of the athlete to fulfill any promised.

  • Q: Can I contribute anonymously?

    Yes: when contributing, select anonymous. However, if you contribute anonymously, you will not be able to receive a reward.
